The Zone Youth Club
Hi, I'm John Parkes. I have a Diploma in Youth & Community Work and I'm also a qualified Teacher. I've worked with young people and children for many years, firstly teaching in schools and then running youth club's and managing projects in the West Midlands. When I saw this job for Youth Leader at The Zone I felt that I needed to return to my 'roots' and do my best to help support and encourage local young people to realise their full potential. This past year in particular has been a very difficult one especially for youngsters with their positive mental health and well being and I hope to be able to use all my experience in helping their personal, social and emotional development through listening to their voices and engaging with them to organise and deliver activities and programmes which they want to participate in. I'm looking forward to meeting all the young people soon and working together to begin re - developing a youth club where they feel safe, they enjoy and where they want to go to meet friends old and new.
Hello I’m Chloe! I absolutely love working at the youth club, the children are fantastic and there is always plenty of laughter and fun to be had, I really have enjoyed working alongside the children and getting to see their friendships blossom! I am a level 3 early years practitioner and work at a local nursery during the week, I am also level 2 qualified in understanding autism and I have been support SENCO at my setting, and I am currently studying for my teaching degree. I look forward to seeing new and familiar faces at the Youth club!
